Swegon Air Management’s division, Naco, will be supplying high performing Vengen glass louvres and controls system as part of the natural and smoke ventilation strategy for the new Caldicot School in Monmouthshire, which is jointly funded by Welsh Government and Monmouthshire County Council as part of the 21st Century Schools program in Wales.
Our EN12101-2 tested glass vent, the Vengen is being installed by Aluminium Sashes Ltd providing both natural and smoke ventilation.
The natural ventilation strategy is managed by the school’s building management system in conjunction with a fully integrated Naco controls system providing power for the Vengen glass louvres, ensuring adequate free area is provided with low level and high level extract, including two large atriums.
The smoke ventilation element is provided by the dual use Vengen Louvre fully tested to EN12101-2. In the event of a fire alarm being triggered, Naco’s Vengen units will override the BMS from natural ventilation operation, to fully automated smoke vent control to clear smoke and heat. Naturally the controls system is also fully tested EN12101-10
As well as the Vengen glass louvres, Naco is also manufacturing the metal louvres, both products forming part of the package being professionally installed by Aluminium Sashes Ltd.
Martin Fackrell, Naco National Sales Manager explained “This is the type of project where Naco is able to provide a complete turn-key solution to the client, from initial concept design and coordination through to final commissioning and occupant training”
As a British manufacturer of metal and glass louvres, we are proud to be working with Aluminium Sashes Ltd, Interserve Construction Ltd and BDP and we look forward to further developing these relationships in the future.
